I called to one company that I applied for a position 2 days ago. The HR manager asked how long you have been in Australia. I told her one month. Then she said your English is not good so that I could not give you this position. Then I argued with her and show her my English is good enough to cover this position. The following words are the course:

J: good afternoon, I applied for a position in your company. Is it still available?

H: what is your name?

J: Jack

H: how long have you been here?

J: one month.

H: when did you send your resume?

J: the day before yesterday.

H: which position do you apply for?

J: hmm, pardon?

H: which position do you seek in my company?

J: can you speak a bit slowly?

H: (Chinese)你申请的是什么职位？

J: network engineer

H: 我认为你的英语不够好，所以你不适合这个职位.

J: no, my English is good enough to do this job.

H: but you didn’t understand my question.

J: no, I understand your question.

H: only after I speak Chinese. Can you explain the questions clear to clients?

J: surely.

H: I don’t think so.

J: my English is not so bad as you imagined, you can chat with me in English and let’s have a try?

H: you need to explain things to clients well.

H: My English is excellent. If I had accent, all the Australian have accent. I speak standard Australian English.

J: the words of this filed is very limited and I know them well. I can illustrate the questions to clients.

H: ok, come here tomorrow at 5.40 and have an interview.

J: well, you mean 5.40 in the afternoon.

H: surely.

J: is it a large company? I mean, if I mention your name to them, can they know you?

H: yes.
